I am a Singer
I love jazz music, and singing also composing jazz songs is my passion. I love walking to that stage and hold the microphone and croon myself away. I would grab my guitar or a piece of paper and start to sing and wrote a song.
I love the cheering crowd, dazzling lights and rush of excitement pumping from every beats of music. Writing my heart out in a song is absolute bliss, those word and tones gratefully enjoy by us.
I love to pour my heart out and compose into easy listening jazz music. I wrote the songs in Indonesian (my native language) and English.
Jazz music is my ultimate muse.
Check out one of my performance video.
Dewindra and Colleagues performing “Sejiwa”
Along with Harry Toledo, an Indonesian talented music composer, I compose my mini album, Color of My Rainbow.
The most excited parties hearing my album development would be my karaoke buddies, they hope once I have my mini album, I will be less selfish and let them hold the microphone for once.
One can only hope, since I reaaaallly love singing. I will not give up the microphone that easy…
My mini album has 6 tracks composed swiftly by Harry Toledo and friends. You can listen to the tracks here.
I am a medical doctor
Yes, I am like one of those doctors you see on Grey’s Anatomy. Yes, I was license to serve ill people and write prescriptions, and I do love watching Grey’s Anatomy and House.
My family has a long history in providing medical services to community.
My late mother was a doctor and my father was too. They serve people at public clinic prior to opening their private practices. As the first child, I continue the legacy as medical doctor.
I worked in private practice in clinic and hospital providing medical services after finishing my medical education. Medical doctor also leads me to my other professional career as a humanitarian worker.
I am a Humanitarian worker
Dewindra as Red Cross staff.
I work for the Red Cross movement till present. I worked in Field Hospital in Banda Aceh, Indonesia after the Indian Ocean Tsunami on 2004.
I was deployed with Indonesia Red Cross to treated hundreds of Tsunami survivors. It is my preliminary task in my first humanitarian career. I shift my career into health development program after the field hospital was closed. I worked directly with community in health based programs until present.
I am currently enjoying working with community in Timor Leste and live in the capital city of the country, Dili. In Dili, I have met a few jamming buddies from work and start to unwind from by establishing a band.
I love what I do both singing and working within community. I regularly have jam session and performed pro bono in Deli. Most of the songs are jazz music. I was accompanied by amazing talent from my humanitarian colleagues, all music enthusiasts.
So, yes, I am a Doctor, Humanitarian Worker and a Singer, sometime only one role, most of the time it’s all three. I love what I do and I love to perform.
Grab your earphone or speakers and let’s get loud!
